Soar Throat is Almost Over

Posted in Personal News on Friday, 27 March, 2009 by Mercy & Wolf

It’s been a while since we posted anything on our blog. In the past few weeks we have been on the roller-coaster of our lives. Almost the whole winter we have been fighting cold and fever one at a time, we do cough still. Today is the last day of school for our children before the Spring break begins. We are all very much looking forward for this 2 weeks of no school.

We do have plans to go to India for 9 days. The last time my mom saw our three sons was in 2003. She is very excited to see our physically grown up kids. We’ll spend five days together with my parents and return back . The next day Wolf leaves to South Africa. It’s a great privilege to share our lives with you. Please hold us in your prayers as we travel. Thank you to all those who involve in our lives in many different ways.

Afternoon at the Jones' place

Happy New Year everyone!

Do you know what Hogmanay is? No? So do we. Even after spending 8 days in the UK we honestly still don’t know, but they say it has something to do with New Year. Probably something pagan.

Anyhow, we are now back from the UK after spending a week with our friends there. We had an awesome time together with Andrew and Debbie Jones, precious people who are such an encouragement to many many others. They encourage Kingdom movement. Plus, the roast beef was incredible! We danced Scottish, drove about 1600 miles in 7 days, got to see the beautiful landscapes of Scotland, stayed in a cold hotel (- 11 C, the hotel didn’t expect guests so they had had the heater and hot water turned off) drove down south to Reading where we used to live 12 years ago and joined the New Year’s party at Bob and Katie Smart’s place.

Bob is probably the UKs best salesman. It was so good to see every one of them there. Jan our eldest son got to make pictures of the nursery where he used to go when he was 4 and Ben got to see the old house where we used to live before he was born. After that we went to visit Cliff and Monica Hill, a prophetic couple who is in big demand nowadays that the economy has been hit and now all of a sudden everyone is asking spiritual questions. Anyway, they had prepared a big dinner for our bodies and refreshing talk for our souls. It was altogether a relaxing time for us and we are glad to be together again as a whole family now. During this time, Eric our 2nd son was snowboarding with his friend Michael and his family in Austria and Wolf’s mother was taken care of by the nursery home here in town.

We are gradually getting back to our normal life again. I am recovering from the cold that I caught in that ice cold hotel and Wolf still has his cough from his last trip to Turkey. The children have another week of winter break and Wolf has some travels coming up this month. He is gonna be 50 on the 8th of January!!!

Our Three Wise Men

We wish all our family and friends a Merry Christmas!

Thank you God for good health

Ever since Wolf came back from Turkey last week, he has been sick. Since the last five days he has fever and upset stomach and lies in bed. Most probably the virus came along with the food and water for free. The last time I remember him being sick with fever was in Dec 1996.

In his many travels around the world he is privileged to experience all sorts of life style. He has traveled by foot, by overloaded boats, to economy class airplanes. he easily adopts any accommodation, from billion stars to five star hotels, and oh the food! (I honestly pray to God not to send me as a missionary to certain places, just because of the food!). Most of the time he gets to eat normal food though.

I want to take time to thank God for his goodness throughout our lives. Some of our colleagues risk their lives to death, are in chains, beaten up, live hidden for the sake of the gospel, with little or no provision, in countries where the gospel cannot be preached so freely. As Wolf lies sick in bed we could only thank God for his protection, provision, love and for the good health and help that he showers on us all the time. And how often we have taken things for granted and have forgotten to thank God!

Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him.

If we disown him, he will also disown us;

if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. 2Ti 2:11-13

The Journey Continues

We are back from the KM (Kingdom Ministries) meeting. It was altogether a good time to be with our friends with whom we had journeyed together for the last 15 years. Our journey continues into the next phase, therefore we released each other so that we can pursue our callings. We prayed blessings for each other on our journeys. Thank you KM friends for everything :-)

Another long waited good news: “The Starfish Manifesto” will finally be in our hands, eh, actually in our computer by tomorrow evening. Big time rejoicing!
